As Labor Day 2021 is upon us, it should be more apparent than ever, that the welfare of each American worker is dependent upon the welfare of all of us.

Union members know that workers only succeed in obtaining the American dream when they exercise their right to fair wages, safe working conditions and  respect in the workplace. We know that there are both good and bad people in every class of society, and that no one should be judged by their color, creed, citizenship, sexual orientation, or station in life, but by how they adhere to, and respect the inalienable rights of all Americans, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

American workers know that whether they are a business executive, government employees, entertainers, medical professionals, first responders, farmers, or domestic employees, that each is the neighbor to the other, that each is comprised of the same hopes and fears, that each has fundamentally the same ideals, and much of the same virtues and faults.

On Labor Day we celebrate the labor rights of working men and women. The preservation and reform of these rights are more important now than ever before, not only to us, but to the future generations of working families who will depend upon them. I have always placed my full trust in the American worker and will continue to do so. My brothers and sisters in labor know that when workers join together for a common cause — that cause which promotes the greater good of all working Americans — only then can America’s working families successfully rise up to effectively engage and politically defeat the enemies of organized labor.

Together we can overcome divisiveness, intolerance, and ignorance.

Together we can a build a bigger, stronger, and better America.

Together we can make a difference in the lives of every worker.

On behalf of Metal Trades workers throughout North America, workers who perform the manufacturing and production work that empowers American industry, who toil without fear or favor in the name of our country’s national defense, I wish you and your families, much good health, prosperity, peace, love, and happiness on Labor Day, that momentous day which celebrates the efforts and achievements of the world’s most productive workforce.

May Gods always protect the workers of the world and keep them safe.
