Susannah Frame is the Chief Investigative Reporter at KING 5 (NBC affiliate) in Seattle. She’s won many of the country’s top journalism awards including two George Foster Peabody Awards, two National Edward R. Murrow Awards, and the Alfred I. du-Pont Columbia Award, considered the equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize.
Susannah’s investigations have exposed many wrongs, including the mismanagement of nuclear waste, the callous disregard of worker’s rights and health issues, the waste of millions of tax dollars, and the violation of civil rights of people with disabilities.
Since 2014, Susannah has uncovered numerous illegal practices and injustices at the Hanford Nuclear Site in Washington state. Many of her investigative reports have brought to light a decades-long campaign by the US Dept. of Energy to mislead the Hanford workforce on the dangers of exposure to toxic chemical vapors. Her reports also exposed unfair tactics used to deny sick Hanford workers their worker compensation claims.
Dr. Peter Navarro, Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy (OTMP), White House
Dr. Peter Navarro received his Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and is a professor emeritus of economics and public policy at the University of California, Irvine. He was an economic and trade advisor for President Donald J. Trump during the 2016 Presidential campaign, and joined the White House staff on Inauguration Day.
At the White House, Dr. Navarro is the Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy (OTMP), an office established by President Trump to defend and serve American workers and domestic manufacturers. In his role as Director of OTMP, Dr. Navarro advises the President on policies to increase economic growth, decrease the trade deficit, and strengthen Americas’ manufacturing and defense industrial bases. Dr. Navarro has helped to reform the conventional arms transfer and unmanned aerial systems policies of the United States, and to expand foreign military sales to our Nation’s partners and allies.
Prior to his appointment, Dr. Navarro appeared regularly as a financial market analyst and China expert in such media outlets as CNBC, Fox Business, the BBC, CNN, MSNBC, and the CBS News, including 60 Minutes. He is the author of numerous books on economics, financial market analysis, and macroeconomics, including Death by China, Seeds of Destruction, Always a Winner, The Coming China Wars, If It’s Raining in Brazil, Buy Starbucks, and The Well-Timed Strategy.
Will Attig, Executive Director, Union Veteran Council
William Attig is a combat veteran of the OIF/OEF war. He served proudly with the 1-26th Infantry, one of the most decorated units of the Iraqi war.
After returning to civilian life, Attig struggled to find his way until he was given an opportunity to attend a veteran welding program with the Helmets to Hard Hats organization in 2010.
After completing the program with Helmets to Hard Hats, Attig went on to become an apprentice with UA Local #160 Plumbers & Pipefitters in Southern Illinois. After seeing what a great opportunity the union had given him, Attig started to advocate for programs that help fellow veterans find employment in organized labor.
By working with both state and federal legislators to promote veterans’ issues in Illinois, Attig has become one of the leading veterans advocates in the state. One of his proudest achievements is the honor of working alongside Illinois legislators to create a Veterans Suicide Task Force. That task force is now a model program for lawmakers nationwide.
Upon completion of his apprenticeship Attig was appointed the political coordinator for UA Local #160 and then worked with the Illinois AFL-CIO as a Zone Coordinator in 2016.
In May of 2017, Attig was selected to lead the national Union Veterans Council at the AFL-CIO. Attig’s main focus is building the program on a state and local level and supporting affiliates Veterans programs.
As a strong unionist Attig is determined to focus on prompting veteran involvement through Programs, OUTREACH, AND education.
