The Metal Trades Department, AFL-CIO, officially calls for its 72nd Convention to convene at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino, 3667 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, beginning Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. The Convention will remain in session until all official business has been completed.

In accordance with Article III of the Department’s Constitution, regular conventions are held every five years and include the election of Department officers. The Convention serves as the supreme governing body of the Metal Trades Department while in session, with full legislative, executive, and judicial authority.

The linked Convention Call serves as the required advance notice to all interested parties of the intent to convene a regular Convention. The Department Convention states the President shall give at least ninety (90) days’ notice of a regular Convention and at least thirty (30) days’ notice of a Special Convention.

The theme for this year’s Convention is ‘Solidarity. Strength. Success. It’s Better in a Union!”
